Salah Foundation Children’s Hospital
Location: Ft. Lauderdale, FL
Over the past two years, we have been a top fundraising sponsor for Salah Children’s Hospital, which, in conjunction with Skanska Construction, raised more than $40,000.
In addition to these extraordinary efforts to give back, we installed over 20,000 square feet of sheet vinyl and LVT throughout corridors and rooms. The challenge came in creating the intricate details found throughout the floor using waterjet fabrication. Using a waterjet cutting machine, we were able to create perfect arcs and circles, as well as fish, footprints, and other delicate accents throughout the pediatric ward.
Being conscientious of HIPAA Guidelines, we were extremely cautious in regards to the dust and debris that may occur during construction as this was taking place in an active Children’s Hospital. ICRA walls, negative air pressure, HEPA filtered air scrubbers, and vacuums were all utilized to ensure each precaution was taken to abide by HIPAA guidelines.
In addition to the 20,000 square feet of resilient flooring, we also installed 2,000 square feet of tile in all the units and public bathrooms’ floor and walls.
As this was an effort of compassion and care, we wanted to ensure the design’s intent. In order to do this, we self-leveled the entire floor, around 22,000 square feet, providing a perfectly level and safe floor for doctors, nurses, children, and their families.
