The Porto Vita in Aventura, FL was a project requiring elegant yet practical surfaces. For elegance, the marble used for corridors, floors, and steam room, spa, and whirlpool walls was installed in custom marble inserts and herringbone patterns. The marble slabs used for the columns and archways required custom fabrication. East Coast Flooring & Interiors cut the marble onsite as well as created templates for use in the company’s South Florida fabrication shop. Custom marble stair treads – complete with marble stair nosing – were installed and finished with carpet runners. For practicality, all the marble was honed and sealed following installation.
In the dining rooms, the East Coast Flooring & Interiors team sanded and stained the existing wood. The team also performed custom fabrication and installed custom wood floors in a herringbone pattern with a border. In the card rooms and ballrooms, the carpet was a double-stick installation. In the gym, the team installed rubber flooring.
