For the Mizner Country Club flooring project, East Coast Flooring & Interiors put all of our experience, expertise, and ingenuity to work. Installing multiple flooring surfaces in various spaces throughout the expansive locale while carefully cost-managing was challenging – but if there is anything we love, it is taking a challenge and turning it into a successful outcome.
East Coast Flooring & Interiors installed large format tile in a herringbone pattern from the entrance throughout the lobby and into the main area. Throughout the rest of the building, we worked with a variety of different shapes, installing rectangles in herringbone on the floors, walls, and the terraces outside, hexagon-shaped mosaic tiles on the floors and walls, and accents in a steam room (including the ceiling), and large format tile on the exterior stairs.
We installed all of the tile using a thinset method. Typically, you cannot install custom layouts with large format tiles without first leveling the entire floor. However, given budget constraints, the Club opted to forgo this step. We worked with the designer to develop a viable solution, and the surfaces came out beautifully.
Additionally, East Coast Flooring & Interiors installed large patterned broadloom carpet in the corridors, children’s rooms, dining rooms, and social rooms. This was a mix of direct glue-down and double-stick broadloom, as well as carpet tiles. We also installed resilient flooring (vinyl plank) in the Massage Rooms and Fitness Rooms, which transitioned safely to rubber tiles for the areas containing weights and heavy equipment. In the locker rooms, we went with a rolled woven vinyl to meet these needs of these environments.
Because of the budget restrictions and the state of the underlying slab, we needed to use all of our skills to level the slab and slope to the exterior terrace drains and account for slab recesses in the Fitness Center. Without the skill and experience of our installers, this would not have been possible.
