Delray Beach Residence | New Construction Residential Flooring
Location: Delray Beach, Florida
For this private residence in South Florida, we installed 2,500 square feet of custom 8.5″ wide plank wood flooring – on the first and second levels, as well as the staircase. On the wood staircase, the customer opted to utilize the wood plank flooring with nose cap. The wide plank wood flooring was utilized on both the tread, as well as the riser.
During the flooring installation, we discovered that the plywood subfloor initially installed by the builder was not up to par for the installation of wood flooring. To ensure stability on the second level, we installed a second layer of plywood, and glued the wide plank wood flooring directly to the plywood. It’s unfortunate, but sometimes this happens when builders cut corners, or only build to suit carpet installation on second levels.
We were able to correct these mistakes and installed a plywood subfloor across the entire second floor. This provided the needed support the house needs and will help the floor last much longer.
