If you are considering having hardwood floors installed in your home or office, you’re going to have to decide whether you want a solid wood flooring installation, or an engineered wood flooring installation. Both qualify as hardwood flooring, but they’re surprisingly different from each other. Our infographic below outlines the differences between solid and engineered hardwood flooring installations, and the characteristics and benefits of each.

Whether it’s a residential project, or a commercial flooring installation, both types of hardwood floors add an air of class, as well as structural strength. Both are durable, long lasting, and fairly easy to install and maintain. However, if you are located in Florida, chances are you don’t see much solid hardwood flooring. It is not common in Florida due to the high humidity, which can warp and damage the solid wood. Floridians more commonly opt for engineered wood installations in their homes and offices, as it can withstand moisture much better.
