There’s a lot to consider when you’re shopping around for flooring. In addition to the flooring itself, whether it be tile, carpet, or hardwood, you’ve also go to think about who you’re going to have install it. Flooring companies are a dime a dozen in Ft. Lauderdale, but reputable and experienced ones are a bit more difficult to come by. If you want to make the most of your investment, you need a company with a proven track record in flooring services. Here are the questions you should ask to ensure that you’ve chosen the best company possible:
1) What is your experience level?
Don’t settle for inexperienced installers who don’t have a lot of background in flooring services. You want someone with extensive knowledge and skills so you can be sure your new floors are installed properly and will look great for years to come.
2) Are you insured and can a copy of the insurance certificate be provided?
Going with an Insured company is the best way to ensure your protection. A certificate of insurance says the company has sufficient coverage to protect themselves, you, and your property. If they can’t provide this document, you might want to find a different flooring service.
3) Can they provide referrals?
The testimony of past customers is a great way to find out if a flooring company is a good one. Ask for referrals, so you can get real feedback about the company, their services, and work ethic.
4) How long will the install take?
Admittedly, installing new flooring will cause a disruption in your life, at least for a little while. It’s a good idea to find out just how long this disruption will last, so ask the company what their timeframe is for completing the work.
5) How will they handle dust, clean-up, etc.?
When new floors are being installed, it can get a little dusty. While there’s no avoiding at least a little bit of dust, the company you choose should have some strategies in place to minimize it. Ask about their clean-up and disposal policies, along with how they plan to keep the dust down.
6) Is the price a firm quote, or an estimate?
After you get an estimate, be sure to ask if that figure is firm or if it may change. No one likes having the surprise of an unexpected cost increase, so ask in advance if this is a possibility.
