HOLLYWOOD, Fla. — East Coast Flooring & Interiors, a South Florida commercial flooring contractor, has begun work on a rock star of a project. While the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Hollywood’s iconic guitar-shaped hotel tower and complex are under construction, the team at East Coast Flooring & Interiors is hard at work on site.
“We have completed self-leveling the subfloor in the east [guitar-shaped] tower,” said Jeremy Lewin, Sales and Estimating Manager for East Coast Flooring & Interiors. “The purpose of our leveling is to bring the floor where the carpet is going up high enough to allow the carpet to meet the tile flush, as there will be tile in the entry and in the bathroom of each unit. The carpet we install will run throughout the rest of the unit and in the corridors.”
And install carpet they shall. According to Lewin, in the guitar-shaped hotel tower alone, his team will install approximately 23,000 square yards of carpet in 491 units and 5,400 square yards of carpet in the corridors. In the pool tower, his team will install approximately 6,300 square yards of carpet in 150 units and 2,700 square yards of carpet in the corridors.
Said Lewin, “In both towers, we plan on using the double-stick method for installing carpet in the high-traffic corridors and tack and pad in the units.”
But the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Hollywood project doesn’t stop there. The property’s $1.5 billion expansion also will include a new 6,500-seat Hard Rock Live theater-style entertainment venue.
“We look forward to starting on the main theater, and its stairs and platforms, in the coming weeks,” said Lewin.
The new guitar-shaped east tower, pool tower and entertainment venue are slated for a fall 2019 opening, allowing ample time ahead of South Florida’s hosting of Super Bowl LIV at the Hard Rock Stadium in February 2020.
